Preschool Storytime - going buggy - going happy

For this storytime, the children at Barney listened to stories about spiders, made an imaginary spider web, played some musical games, and watched a film. By storytime's end, the children also created a craft that related to the stories they had just experienced. What better way to remember spiders than to create them with lollipops and pipe cleaners! Drop in on us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. to join in the fun during July.

Buggy Summer Reading Kick-off is a great big hit

Summer Reading was officially kicked off with a real life presentation of real life bugs by Adam Harris from Harris in Wonderland. His presentation of walking sticks, butterflies, spiders and more spiders delighted and enlightened both children and their parents and grandparents. Mr. Harris explained bugs anatomy, and the importance of bugs in ecology. The room was full to capacity for this up close encounter with some wild and crazy creepy crawlies. Our next special will be on Thursday, July 24, 2008 for Rosalita and the Giant Bugs - a puppet show. Please call ahead to register and don't miss the fun.
