Come to Barney this summer and enjoy summer reading. Why not ride your new two wheeler over and pick up some great new books and some good movies. Barney Library is prepared to accomodate young, old, and inbetween patrons with books, multi-media resources, free cultural events, excellent age appropriate story times, and computer services. The Barney Library, 71 Main Street has a full complement of programming for adults and children this summer. Information regarding the schedule may be obtained by picking up a flyer at The Barney Library or The Farmington Library, 6 Monteith Drive, as well as accessing the website at farmingtonlibct.org and scrolling though Eventkeeper. In addition to series programs for 0-3 year olds, 3-5 year olds and 6-8 year olds, Barney will be hosting a picnic at the movies on Mondays at noon, where families are invited to enjoy their lunch while watching a full length feature film. A magic show on July 7 at 11 a.m., a Reader's Theatre Pizza Party on July 23 at 6:30 p.m. and a puppet show on August 5 at 11 a.m.
Adults will be delighted by an armchair travelogue of The Grand Canyon and Arizona in Snow by Bill Conway on Tuesday, June 30 at 1:15 p.m., a visit from The Department of Environmental Protection Master Wildlife Conservationist, Felicia Ortner, speaking about Black Bears in Connecticut on July 7 at 7 p.m., Author Dick Sederquist discussing his book Hiking Out: Surviving Depression with Humor and Insight on Tuesday, August 11 at 1:15 p.m. Farmington's own Jazz group, Crescendo, led by Sebastian Massa will perform on August 18 at 6:30 p.m.
