The Friends of the Farmington Library are collecting books to be given to an area charity. Donations for birth to high school age children may be brought to the Barney or to the main library until Monday, December 19, 2011.

Suggestions include soft cloth baby books, multicultural picture books, stories of holiday celebrations in other countries, fiction, non-fiction for older children and positive ethnic stories and poems.

Please stop by, select a tag from the tree and include it with your book donation.

Noah Wallace Grade Three Students Visit Barney

Sharing A Story

Playing The Stick Game

Creating Native American Symbols In Sand Art

Ninety third grade students from Noah Wallace School visited The Barney Library for a Native American Lesson just before Thanksgiving. Mrs. Maciel and Mrs. Lescoe shared Native American stories, led a Native American stick game, and showcased Native American culture through a DVD and a hands-on sand art project. Judging from the thank you notes written by the students, the presentation was engaging, entertaining, and informative.
