A Saint Patrick's Day Celebration for wee ones took place at The Barney Library with two dozen children in attendance. After hearing about the origins of St. Patrick's Day and the acting out the story of two giants, the youngsters learned some Irish Dance Steps with Maureen Walsh Klapatch, a professional Irish step dancer. Participants then decorated a pot with St. Patrick's Day stickers and left it out while they watched a DVD. The leprechaun made a visit and filled their pot with gold, much to the audience's delight. Special thanks to Miss Jane and Miss Maureen for orchestrating the leprechaun's shenanigans.
Outstanding Public Library service is critical to our democratic way of life, providing memories of the past and visions to the future. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." -- George Santayana, Life of Reason (1905)
