The Barney Library Children's Program Room was the setting for a program for budding artists, under the direction of Ms. Jane Maciel, the library's graphic artist and programmer. The artwork of Kandisky was studied and children had the opportunity to create look-alike works of art. The second part of the series will be held on August 9, when the work of Paul Klee will be explored. Who knows? We may have our own famous artist hanging in The Met one day!
Outstanding Public Library service is critical to our democratic way of life, providing memories of the past and visions to the future. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." -- George Santayana, Life of Reason (1905)
