Armchair Travel Visits Iceland

Thanks to the wonder of digital photography and the expertise of globe trotter Barbara Knibbs, Farmington Library's Director of Lending, Collection Management and Networking, Armchair Travel explored Iceland. Over three dozen participants learned about the history of Iceland, its topography, economy, and culture.

One of the wealthiest, most developed countries in the world, Iceland is noted for its geothermal systems. The Nordic welfare system there provides universal medical care and college education.

There were many questions about Iceland.  Participants were told to bring plenty of money if they visit, for a hamburger and beer could cost $27.00, which is probably why many people preferred to visit Iceland thru Armchair Travel.
